Arizona State Senior Olympic Games
The
Arizona Senior Olympics (ASO), Arizona’s premier competition for seniors,
was founded by the City of Phoenix in 1981. Annually,
thousands of competitors converge from around the state to participate
in one of the largest, most successful Senior Olympic events in the nation.
The 25th Annual edition
of the Arizona state games will be held in Phoenix February 16–March 9,
2008. For more information call the ASO office at 602/261-8765. You
must have competed in the 2008 Arizona Senior Olympics to qualify for
the 2009 National Senior Games. 2008 is the qualifying year for
the 2009 National Senior Games to be held in Palo Alto, CA.

The Tucson Senior Olympics Festival is NOT a qualifying competition to advance to either the Arizona Senior Olympics or the National Senior Games.
National Senior Games
The
National Senior Games Association (NSGA) was originally formed in 1985
as the U. S. National Senior Sports Organization. The
NSGA is the nation’s leading organization for fitness and sports for seniors.
The first U. S. National
Senior Sports Classic took place in 1987, and has continued on a biennial
basis ever since. The next National Senior Games will be held August 1-15,
2009 in Palo Alto, CA.
Competitors must have
qualified through state competition during the 2008 calendar year. For
